On Tuesday 18th August 2015, Ogawa seminar held a party to celebrate the successful completion and defence of master’s theses by three seminar students. It was a very delightful and joyful moment, shared with Dr. Tomomi Miyajima, who is an Education Specialist at the World Bank Headquarters. Dr. Miyajima is currently teaching a summer intensive course in the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (GSICS) at Kobe University.
Prof. Keiichi Ogawa gave a congratulatory speech, acknowledging the achievements of the three graduates after 2 years of studies in GSICS. He informed that one of the graduates will return to Shanghai to work in one of the major commercial banks, while the other two will continue their studies as doctoral students in GSICS. Dr. Miyajima in her congratulatory message pointed out that Ogawa seminar is a very unique learning circle, since it has a diverse student body and each student brings a different personality and experience, which help create unity as one big family. She also mentioned that Professor Ogawa provides so many international opportunities to his students such as internship and consultancy in international organizations.
The seminar members made the graduates surprised with message cards, comfy gifts, and bouquet of sunflowers. This special occasion was closed with brief speeches from the three graduates. Each of the graduate expressed deep gratitude to Prof. Ogawa for his kind and warm support and encouragement during the two years. They also expressed happiness for all the support from fellow students/friends.
We are truly grateful to Prof. Ogawa for making time to attend the party despite his busy schedule. On behalf of all Ogawa seminar members, I wish the graduates all the best of luck in their respective futures.
