On August 24th 2016, Ogawa zemi’s graduation party was held in an Italian café near the university, to honor three of its Master students namely, Mr. Seil Kim, Mr. Jaik Lee, and Mr. Jingyuan Ma. The official graduation ceremony in Kobe GSICS will be held in late September but since Mr. Kim and Mr. Lee, students of Campus Asia Dual Degree Program, have to return to Korea University to complete another Master’s degree early September, we organized the party in advance.
Dr. Tomomi Miyajima, Education Specialist at the World Bank headquarters who was delivering an intensive lecture at Kobe University’s Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (GSICS), kindly joined the party. Although many of Ogawa zemi students were out of Japan for summer vacation, we still had a relatively good turnout – a total of 11 participants were present at the party to celebrate the three students’ accomplishment.
Started around 7:30 PM, the party lasted for three hours, concluded by a moving speech from Professor Ogawa followed by responding remarks by the three graduating students. Then, Professor Ogawa kindly shared prepared gifts with the students. This joyful moment was celebrated by photos and applause. It was a great and memorable celebration.
