The 2nd International Hybrid Conference on Japanology in New Era was organized by the Department of Japanese Studies, University of Dhaka with the support of the Japan Foundation on January 14th and 15th, 2023.

This conference is a platform to exchange and discuss research findings and renewed ideas with researchers and students on various perspectives such as Japanese history, society, culture, economy, industry, foreign direct investment (FDI), official development assistance (ODA), education and technology, and the relationship between Bangladesh and Japan. Professor Keiichi Ogawa gave the speech as a guest of honor and led a session on “Sustainable Human Capital Development and Work Place Environment”.

I would like to show my sincere gratitude to the department members of the University of Dhaka, who kindly invited Ogawa seminar students to the conference. I also sincerely appreciate Dr. Md Jahangir Alam, Associate Professor at the University of Dhaka and Ogawa-seminar alumni, who continuously supports Ogawa-seminar students in various perspectives such as Joint-research and Internship, as well as being the conference coordinator. At the next conference, I hope to contribute to the further development of this conference through the seminar student’s research presentations. Lastly, I would like to thank Professor Keiichi Ogawa for his support in building a lasting relationship between seminar students and alumni and in participating in conferences in Japan and abroad.
