On the 13th and 14th of October 2024, the 34th Japan Society for Africa Educational Research (JSAER) Conference was held at Hiroshima University. At this conference, 3 doctoral students, and 2 master students from Ogawa-seminar presented their research proposal and findings.
The conference took over from the International Education Development Forum (IEDF) that had been held at Hiroshima University in the morning. The conference began with an opening remark by Dr. Nozomi Sakata, an associate professor of Hiroshima University. Then, together with the IEDF participants, we held a special session entitled “Learning from Dr. Nobuhide Sawamura’s Life History” to commemorate his numerous achievements and coming retirement. Under the facilitation of Dr. Kazuhiro Yoshida (Hiroshima University), we had the valuable opportunity to hear about the experiences of Dr. Nobuhide Sawamura, a renowned scholar in African education research and one of the founders of this society. Moreover, at the reception, we got valuable opportunities to communicate with researchers from other universities.
The following Ogawa-seminar students presented their full paper and research proposal at the conference (Alphabetical Order).
The next JSAER conference will be held at Soka University on 19th and 20th of April 2025.
