Professor Keiichi Ogawa was invited to deliver a lecture in the JICA training conducted by Professor Takashi Hamano (Course Leader) at Ochanomizu University on October 17, 2016. This training focused on issues related to access and quality of early childhood education (EDC), and eleven government officers and principals from Western African countries, namely Benin, Bukina Faso, Cameroon, Cote Di’vore, Niger and Republic of Congo, participated in the one- month training.
Professor Ogawa shared his recent research findings on financing of early childhood care and education (ECCE) in Asia and the Pacific Region including Japan, in relation to public policy to improve the ECCE sub-sector. This seminar was three hours long, with active participation in the Q&A discussions afterward with the training participants.
