The 60th Annual Conference of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) was held at Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver, Canada, from March 6 to 10, 2016. The conference was hosted by the Faculty of Education and its Comparative Education Research Centre at the University of Hong Kong, with the theme of “Six Decades of Comparative and International Education: Taking Stock and Looking Forward” as a memorial for the 60th anniversary of the CIES conference. The conference attracted over 2,700 participants from more than 100 countries all over the world, including world-class researchers and practitioners, and offered over 700 sessions.
At this year’s CIES conference, two of the members from Prof. Ogawa’s Seminar, namely Mr. Katsuki Sakaue (Doctoral Student) and Dr. Akemi Ashida (Research Fellow) presented their full papers, and received very valuable comments and advice to help them improve respective research works.
