The 23rd Japan Society for International Development (JASID) Spring Conference was held virtually on Saturday, June 18th, 2022. There were 17 sessions, which were conducted virtually in real-time: a plenary session, a special session organized by the Executive Committee, and other sessions on the topics such as region, education, children, development, NGO, SDGs, disaster, environment, and socio-economic. Poster sessions were delivered by on-demand videos with online interactions over the Q&A platform.
As for poster sessions, graduate students of Ogawa seminar participated and presented their research. Ms. Kaori Matsuda, who presented her master’s research results entitled “An Analysis of Access to Education for Children with Disability in Indonesia”, was awarded the “Excellent Poster Presentation Encouragement Award”. Her research demonstrated that there was a high risk in being out-of-school children when children have physical disabilities such as hands and feet, and there was no correlation between being out-of-school children and ‘disability and gender’ or ‘disability and poor’. It was highly praised for its uniqueness of problem awareness and the fact that it was supported by careful consideration such as the type of classification of disabilities.
