Message to Potential Candidates to Ogawa Seminar:
My name is Ms. VANMANIVONG CHOUMMALA , and I come from Laos PDR. I firmly believe that with support and networking—my key focus—nothing is impossible. I am dedicated to enhancing my career and environment, recognizing the crucial role of human capital in driving progress. Each challenge I encounter serves as a stepping stone to success, and I am committed to developing my skills and knowledge.
Surrounding myself with inspiring individuals, such as Professor Keiichi Ogawa and his colleagues, is essential for fostering a strong human resource base. I aim to address global issues, particularly the impacts of climate change, which affect us all, while contributing positively to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Laos. We have 18 SDGs to tackle, especially as we still deal with the legacy of unexploded ordnance (UXO).
In addition, I am passionate about promoting equitable access to education for all students. Ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to learn and thrive is crucial for building a more just society. By setting clear goals and maintaining focus, I am confident that I can build a fulfilling career while addressing the global challenges we face. I aspire to create projects that support and empower communities, promoting equity and improved quality of life. For instance, in my home town, where poverty rates are high, I am committed to initiatives that help reduce poverty and improve educational access both locally and globally.
Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to JASSO for their support through the Asia Campus office (GSICS) in facilitating opportunities for students from Laos to participate in the exchange program at Kobe University.
