Message to Potential Candidates to Ogawa Seminar:
I am pursuing my doctoral studies majoring in Education Policy and Education Development under the supervision of Professor Ogawa. At the same time, I am working as a full−time administrative officer at private university in Japan. When I was a master’s student in Kobe University’s Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (GSICS), it was difficult for me to manage work and study balance. It is because there were a lot of assignments I had to do, and I had to read many books and journal papers to prepare for each lecture. When I stayed up late to finish assignments, I couldn’t focus on my tasks in my office in the following days. Thus, I found a solution by checking my working schedule and deadlines of assignments every Monday, then I tried to finish all the assignments one week in advance by getting up early in the morning and using commuting time on train between my office and GSICS. Ogawa seminar is an excellent learning environment to pursue my career objective (to become an education specialist). I highly value a close collection among Ogawa seminar students and alumni with different professionals and academic backgrounds, who are very highly motivated for their study, research and work. Moreover, Ogawa Seminar helps his member students to develop and expand their respective capacities in the form of cutting-edged knowledge and skills required to survive in the education development field. As a member of this seminar, I was able to learn how to proceed tasks in front of me in a strategic way within a limited time. Since I joined Ogawa seminar April 2016, my academic knowledge and skills have much improved, and the pathway to my career goals is much clearer. It is not easy to manage work and study at the same time; however, it is worth to challenge and take the chance to make big steps to your goals. I highly recommend you to become a member of Ogawa Seminar.
