Nobuyuki (Nobu) Tanaka has been engaged in research, policy, and program development and management in educational development. Currently, as an economist at the global unit of the Education Global Practice at the World Bank, Nobu focuses on technical knowledge tasks in the areas of education finance and skills development. Prior to that, he has been mainly working on operational tasks in the Africa region including field-based work. He has also been engaged in education analyses in the Middle East and North Africa region. Before joining the Bank, he worked at non-governmental organizations and in the finance sector. He holds a PhD from Kobe University in Japan.
