The 61st Annual Conference of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) was held at Sheraton Atlanta Downtown Hotel in Atlanta City, USA from March 5th to 9th, 2017. In this conference, Professor Keiichi Ogawa and two alumni from Ogawa seminar namely, Dr. Akemi Ashida from the University of Tokyo and Dr. Katsuki Sakaue from Kobe University/ UNESCO Bangkok Office, presented their research separately. Moreover, two graduate students from Ogawa seminar namely, Mr. Bernard Yung Loleka and Mr. Takao Okamoto also presented their research papers. Furthermore, Dr. Kentaro Shimada, an alumnus from Ogawa’s seminar who is currently with Kyoto University, participated in this conference.
Professor Ogawa and his students (current and former) had a reunion dinner in a local Italian restaurant in Downtown, Atlanta City. Since Ogawa Seminar’s alumni are currently working in various institutions outside of Kobe, it was a good opportunity to update each other about personal, professional and academic developments.
