The 30th Japan Society for Africa Educational Research (JSAER) Conference was held on the 1st and 2nd of October 2022, at the Kagoshima Women’s College. The 30th JSAER conference was an on-site and online meeting. At the conference, more than 20 researchers delivered presentations. One alumni, one doctoral student, and four master’s students from Professor Ogawa seminar presented their research.
The conference began with the opening remarks by Dr. Toyomi Uchida, the executive committee chairman of the conference, from Kagoshima Women’s College. The 30th-anniversary conference special session entitled “Reflecting on the path of the JSAER to the present,” was facilitated by Dr. Toyomi Uchida. The session started with the stage performance by Young Dancing Team ShikaJyoTan and Kagoshima Barati. Then, Professor Seiji Utsumi from Hiroshima University, Professor Nobuhide Sawamura from Osaka University, Dr. Nagisa Nakawa from Kanto Gakuin University, and Dr. Jun Kawaguchi from Tsukuba University had a panel discussion. The conference was closed by the closing remarks by Professor Kazuhiro Yoshida, the president of the JSAER.
At this forum Mr. Yudai Ishii, a master’s student who presented his research result at the conference, was awarded the “Outstanding Research Presentation Award.” His research title was “An Analysis of School-Based Management on Learning Achievement in Senegal Primary Education.” He presented his master’s thesis, which will be submitted next year.
