The 33rd Japan Society for International Development (JASID) Annual Conference was held on 3rd and 4th of December 2022 at Meiji University. The 33rd JASID conference was held offline and online. At the conference, there were 32 sessions and 9 poster sessions in which the topic was related to education, economics, environment, social development, community, culture, gender peacebuilding, disaster, and sanitation.
As for poster sessions, 2 doctoral students and 4 master’s students from the Ogawa seminar presented their research. Mr. Takumi Kobayashi, a doctoral student who presented his research result, was awarded the ‘Outstanding Poster Session Award”. His research title was “The Effects of Community and Parental Participation on Educational Quality in Ugandan Primary Education: Case of Bushenyi and Wakiso Districts”. His research was conducted by mixed methods; qualitative and quantitative analysis. With this analysis, his research revealed that active community and parental involvement are positively correlated with educational quality, especially school learning environments, financial resources, and teaching and learning interactions.
