On the 12th of April 2024, Assistant Professor Yessi Rahmawatti from Airlangga University in Indonesia delivered her innovative research at the Japan Society for International Development (JASID) Kansai seminar and Campus Asia Risk Management Seminar.
After her seminar, a welcome party was held in Sakura Restaurant at Kobe University. Professor Keiichi Ogawa, Associate Professor Katsuki Sakaue, Assistant Professor Yessi Rahmawatti, and twenty-eight graduate students attended the party. Professor Ogawa extended a warm welcome to Assitant Professor Yessi and eight new students to Ogawa-Seminar: a doctoral student (Ms. Natsumi Shibata), five master students (Ms. Wakana Azuma, Ms. Aoi Nakagawa, Mr. Rikuto Ogawara, Ms. Kyoko Okamoto, and Ms. Miyoko Watanabe), and two research students (Mr. Md Efrat Jahan Bhuiyan Shafin and Mr. Leavsovath In). After appreciating the two professors (Professor Katsuki Sakaue, and Professor Yessi Rahmawatti) and welcoming the new students to the Ogawa seminar, Professor Ogawa told us that “beginning an academic life can be both exciting and challenging.”. He encouraged new students to extend their intellectual curiosity and foster critical thinking, innovation, and creativity.
Professor Ogawa then invited professors to give short speeches. Afterward, all the new students also gave a short introduction of themselves. A senior seminar student conveyed congratulatory and welcome messages to the new students and thanked Professor Keiichi Ogawa, Professor Katsuki Sakaue, and Professor Yessi Rahmawatti for attending the party. In closing, all participants extended heartfelt congratulations to Professor Yessi Rahmawatti and the new students. The welcome party was a wonderful opportunity for all the participants to interact, exchange research ideas, and get to know each other.
