Message to Potential Candidates to Ogawa Seminar

My name is Haruka Nakayama, and I am a Master’s student at the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies at Kobe University.

My interest in educational development began when I watched a documentary about children working in developing countries during junior high school. This interest became even stronger through my exchange experience in the Philippines during my undergraduate studies, where I realized how strongly educational environments affect children’s learning and future opportunities. Currently, I am interested in researching how school environments influence children’s learning in developing countries.

One of the strengths of the Ogawa seminar is that we can study education and international cooperation from an economic perspective while also learning from discussions with students who have different interests and backgrounds. It is a place where we can broaden our perspectives through both research and daily conversations. If you are interested in education or international cooperation, I hope we can learn together.
