On the 8th and 9th of April, the 31st Japan Society for Africa Educational Research (JSAER) Conference was held at the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (GSICS), Kobe University. The conference was held in a hybrid format, with 26 presentations concerning proposals and findings given by researchers and students from various universities. In addition, a special session titled ‘World Bank and SDG4 in Sub-Saharan Africa’ featured a debate between experts from the World Bank and recipient countries.
In the general membership meeting, Professor Keiichi Ogawa was nominated as the new president of the JSAER. Ms. Kaori Uchiyama, a new Ph.D. student under his supervision, was awarded the “Outstanding Research Presentation Award”. She presented her research finding under the title “An Analysis of Relationship between Socioeconomic Status and Early Childhood Development in Ghana”.
