Ms. Rie OKUDA is a Doctoral Student in the Graduated School of International Cooperation Studies at Kobe University. She is a research fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). Her research interests lie in the sociology of education, social anthropology, and Regional Studies of Oceania (Micronesia). She currently works in the field of the Federated States of Micronesia, analyzing aspects of cultural and social change in the island nations of the Oceania region from the perspective of education. She holds a Master’s degree in International Studies form Kobe University.
