Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (GSICS), Kobe University
On February 2, 2017, Ms. Sayako Ishino delivered a career seminar in the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (GSICS) at Kobe University. Ms. Ishino, who is an alumna of the Ogawa seminar, is currently an Advisor/ Researcher in the Embassy of Japan in Cote d’Ivoire (accredited to Togo and Niger) and has been working on economic development issues in the three countries.
When Ms. Ishino was a master student in Kobe GSICS, she participated in CAMPUS Asia Program and obtained two master’s degrees: 1) Master of Public Administration from the School of International Relations and Public Affairs (SIRPA) at Fudan University, China; and 2) Master of Economics from GSICS, Kobe University.
In her seminar, she shared with us what she has been doing in the Embassy and what kind of experiences she has gained at Kobe and Fudan Universities that are useful in her current work in the Embassy. After her presentation, participants raised questions about the double degree program and career trajectory of the graduates. Ms. Ishino kindly responded to each question regarding her experiences in Kobe, China, and Cote d’Ivoire.
